Rick Alston has spent 38 years of his life in the cleaning Service industry starting as a part time student custodian in 1972, upon graduation from high school at the Philadelphia Naval Base in 1974; Rick entered the full time workforce in the floor service division of Temco Commercial Building Service.
In 1976 Rick left Temco to take a position as head floor care technician for Complete Building Service where he developed his supervisory skills and had floor care supervisor responsibility for Bala Cynwyd Buildings 1 & 2. Capitalizing on his knowledge gained in practical application floor care Rick joined the Liberty Service Company of Philadelphia in 1978 selling service to facilities in the metropolitan Philadelphia area for the company.
His successes lead to being offered a position as Sales Manager for Gerard Window and Building Service Company in 1980 where he further developed his sales and marketing skills. In 1982 Mr. Alston decided to strike out on his own in the cleaning service industry and through the help of his friend and mentor Greer Heindell, Rick started A Cleaning Services. Through hard work and dedication he built his company from a small specialty floor service company into one of the region’s largest specializing in retail floor care with crews servicing accounts in New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and Northern Maryland.

In 1982 Rick attend a workshop give by Temple University on basic management skills.
In 1984 Rick was a member of the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce.
In 1986 Rick was elections to the Democratic Executive Committee in Philadelphia.
In 1986 Rick was appointed to the board of the Logan Assistance Corp.
In 1999 Rick stay in Canada at the North America School to learn about cleaning equipment.
